Bart the Bard

This bard, formerly known as Bart Zeal, is a druidic composer and lyricist from The Netherlands. Writing poetic songs guided by pagan bardic traditions to find a deeper understanding of life itself. My inspiration is drawn from the eightfold wheel of the year and mythical (often Scandinavian or local) stories.

This original Druidic song about the Summer Solstice (Alban Hefin) is a communal effort of three folk artists, working from different countries and languages and bringing our voices together through our connection with nature. This Pagan Folk song was written for Alban Hefin and describes many things that are characteristic of the Summer Solstice.

Still brings a tear to my eye today. I listen to this when I am feeling down. There has been no greater gift given to me in my life. A song written by a friend that missed me in his hobbies as I tried to move on, like a lighthouse beacon, these words brought me back. Even now, whilst we both no longer share that hobby, the legacy of Gromm lives on in our hearts. I think I'll keep writing and, maybe one day, we can meet as musician and author over a drink =)

I had this song on Spotify randomly recommended to me, and it’s been stuck in my head ever since. Wanted to listen to it just now, and I’m signed out of Spotify, so I went to find it on RUclips, and I was shocked by how few views it has (it was also pretty hard to find!). It’s such a good song, it deserves far more than 400 views. Just wanted to say I really enjoy it and I’ll be sure to share it with people. :)
